USS Connecticut Battleship BB-18 seen on high speed trials in 1906. fter completing her service with the Great White Fleet, Connecticut participated in several flag-waving exercises intended to protect American citizens abroad until she was pressed into service as a troop transport at the end of World War I to expedite the return of American Expeditionary Forces from France.

Kapitänleutnant Günther Prien, returning to Germany after sinking HMS Royal Oak. The "Bull of Scapa Flow" would receive the Knights Cross of the Iron Cross for his actions, and U-47 would go on to sink 30 more ships and damage 8 more under his leadership, making it one of the most successful U-boats of the war. Like most U-boat crewmen of the Kriegsmarine, Prien and U-47 did not survive the war. They disappeared in March of 1941 off the coast of Iceland.
German submarine U-124 (nickname "Edelweisseboot") was a Type IXB U-boat of Nazi Germany's Kriegsmarine during World War II here seen flying 5 victory pennants. Under command by Korvettenkapitän Johann Mohr she was very succesfull with 46 ships sunk for a total of 219,862 gross register tons (GRT)2 warships of 5,775 tons and 4 ships damaged 30,067 GRT of which 2 were a total loss she was sunk west of Portugal on 2 april 1943 by 2 british warships
U-106 (Type IXB)
John Holland of Ireland created the submarine. In 1900 it became the first in the US Navy. Go Irish! (As of Jan 2014, this link works - interesting story)

Только снимали не немцы, а итальянцы. Это связано с тем, что основная фишка фильма - участие в съемках известной группы итальянских реконструкторов из Progetto900. Получилось так себе, "Сталинград" с Кречманом намного сильнее.
